Technical Writing

Although not a formally trained Technical Writer, writing about technical subjects always seems to be one of my collateral duties that I enjoy from writing Flow Charts, Study Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Electronic Test and Assembly Procedures, and blogs about Spyware Prevention and Preventive Computer Maintenance.

  • Initially for my own use, I started by writing detailed troubleshooting flow charts for electronic equipment I worked with along with testing methods and reference signal waveforms for an HF Transmitter.
  • Also initially for my own use, I compiled a list of questions and answers based on previous bibliographies for the Navy Electronic Technician Advancement tests. I later used this knowledge as an Author for Hire with Northstar Study Guides for the U.S. Navy’s Electronics Technician E4-E7 advancement test for 8 years, as well as the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) qualification program.
  • Curriculum Developer for the U.S. Navy’s, Seal Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Electronic Maintenance Repair course consisting of (44) Lesson topics involving hands-on laboratory, lectures and training aids for the entire electrical power distribution and control system, instrumentation electronics, navigation, sonar and communications equipment for a classified electric mini-submarine.
